Parents/Carers

Progression beyond college at the age of 18 is big step for any young person. In college we support students during their time with us, whilst we also recognise the important role family and friends play in supporting individual students. Students will be researching their options, attending university open days and apprenticeship events, and may generally ask questions relating to their options and their next steps.

There are a number of events that take place throughout the year to keep parents/carer informed, examples of these can be found on the Careers Programme.

Next Steps Videos (Year 13)

In normal times, we would host a ‘Higher Education Information Evening’ and an ‘Apprenticeship Information Evening’, however, in light of the current restrictions, we have taken the decision to make this information digital.

Below are two presentations – one aimed at Higher Education and one aimed at Apprenticeships / Employment – where we aim to provide information about these progression routes, the support that students have had up to now, and how this will look after the October half-term break.
